About the Artist

kAt Philbin hails from the middle of nowhere in Southwest Missouri, in a liminal space between forest and field. She grew up in a spooky old house, reading lots of books and wandering the countryside.

The Stupid Animal Shop was started in 2007 as a self-deprecating side hustle and from there, kAt began showing in galleries across the US and selling art worldwide. 

Kat currently lives in Burbank, California with a small garden and a thriving sourdough starter named David Hasselhefe.
